COME SUPPORT OUR KIDS' PROGRAM BY ATTENDING OUR SALE!

 

Our kids' program at the San Marcos Housing Authority is raising money not only for our end of the summer trip to NASA in Houston, but for the start of the new school year. Profits made go to all the kids activities, including our biggest event, Texas Night Out in October. 

Our NASA trip will be a big end to the Summer Program. Depending on the amount raised will determine how many kids will be able to participate in this amazing trip. Texas Night Out is an event where families can come together for one night to have a fun worry-free time. There are games, food, and prices for the families to enjoy. 

We will be selling clothes for the entire family, home decor, shoes, and some electronics. Aside from the garage sale we will be having a back to school raffle. The raffle will have two winners. Prizes are a book-bag with school supplies. School supplies include notebooks, crayons, glue, pencils, etc

. 

Along with the the raffle and garage sale we will be selling breakfast tacos, empanadas, and aguas frescas.

There will be donations jars set up around different stations. Anything helps so come by and support the kids of the KAD program. 

Field Trip to the Library

Last week our 6-10 year-olds were able to take a field trip to the San Marcos Public Library. The kids were able to get a tour of the library. During the tour the kids also learned how to search for books in the library data system.  Kids were able to find books on some of their favorite topics. Some searched for how to build Lego models, others found some of their favorite books that they read during the school year, while others searched for Spider-man books.  The librarian gave us library card applications to send home with the kids. Kids were excited to get their cards for future visits.  “The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” - Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
